On November 26, 2025, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced a nationwide recall of over 81,000 KingPavonini adult portable bed rails due to a serious safety hazard. These bed rails pose a life-threatening risk of entrapment and asphyxiation, violating mandatory federal standards for adult portable bed rails.
The manufacturer, Henan Kingpavonini Network Technology Co., Ltd., and its related supplier, Wuyi Fortune Land Sports and Leisure Products Co., Ltd., both based in China, sold the devices under the brand name KingPavoniniexclusively through Amazon between June 2024 and May 2025. The affected products were priced between $30 and $85.
The recall includes six models of KingPavonini-branded bed rails. When installed, users can become trapped between the rail and the mattress, creating a high risk of suffocation or fatal injury. Compounding the hazard, the products were sold without the required warning labels that alert users to these dangers.
The hazard lies in the design and installation method of the recalled bed rails. When attached to a bed, there is a gap between the rail and the mattress. This creates a narrow entrapment zone, especially dangerous for older adults, individuals with limited mobility, or those with cognitive impairments.
Users can roll into the gap and become wedged or stuck, especially during sleep or while shifting positions. In some cases, this may block the airway and result in asphyxiation—a silent and deadly outcome. Bed rail entrapment is a known danger, and that’s why federal standards mandate strict spacing requirements, warning labels, and secure installation protocols.
These KingPavonini models failed to meet those standards. The CPSC’s recall identifies a clear violation of the mandatory standard for adult portable bed rails. Furthermore, no incidents or deaths have yet been reported, but the potential severity of the risk prompted a proactive nationwide recall.
The recall covers the following six KingPavonini models, each of which presents the same entrapment risk:
| Model Number | Description | Size |
| BC-CBJ-X | White tubing with foam handle grips and fabric pouch | 32″ x 21″ |
| BC-CBJ | Similar to above | 35″ x 21″ |
| BC-LDFS-X | With support legs | 36″ x 41″ |
| LDFS-SSK | Black tubing with support legs | 33″ x 40″ |
| 04-BC-LDFS | Larger with support legs | 45″ x 20″ |
| BC-LDFS | With motion sensor light | 45″ x 44″ |
Each model features rounded foam grips, a black fabric pouch, and in some cases, support legs or motion lights. All of these products are branded with “KingPavonini” on the fabric cover and were shipped with owner’s manuals containing the model numbers.
All affected products were sold online through Amazon.com from June 2024 to May 2025. The price range was $30 to $85, making them widely accessible to caregivers and families seeking affordable bed safety solutions for aging loved ones.
Because the sale occurred exclusively through a popular e-commerce platform, there’s a high likelihood that the devices reached thousands of U.S. households. Many consumers may have purchased the rails without fully understanding the installation risks or missing warning labels.
If you or someone in your household owns one of the recalled bed rail models, it is crucial to stop using it immediately. Continuing to use these rails—even if no issues have occurred yet—could result in serious injury or death.
The manufacturer is offering two remedies: a full refund or a free replacement. Consumers must follow the outlined disposal steps to qualify for the refund or replacement:
Once these steps are completed, the company will issue the refund or ship the replacement product. Consumers should dispose of the bed rail according to local waste guidelines.

This recall has raised serious questions about accountability and consumer protection. Under U.S. product liability law, companies that sell defective or dangerous products can be held legally responsible for the harm they cause.
Even though no deaths or injuries have been officially reported, the violation of mandatory safety standards and the scale of the recall—over 81,000 units—is a red flag. If someone was harmed before the recall was announced, they may have grounds for a lawsuit.
Potential legal claims may include:
When companies sell defective medical support products that endanger lives, they can be held accountable for damages, including medical bills, funeral expenses, loss of companionship, and long-term care costs.
Families who purchased KingPavonini bed rails and experienced any of the following may be eligible for legal action:
Documenting what happened, keeping medical records, and saving any correspondence with the seller or manufacturer can be important evidence if legal action becomes necessary.
What is the danger with KingPavonini adult bed rails?
The primary hazard is entrapment. When attached to a bed, users—especially elderly or disabled individuals—can become wedged between the rail and the mattress. This can lead to suffocation or fatal injury, particularly during sleep. The product design violates federal standards.
How many products are affected by this recall?
More than 81,000 units of six different bed rail models are included in the recall. All were sold between June 2024 and May 2025 exclusively through Amazon.
Are there any reported injuries or deaths?
No injuries have been officially reported yet. However, the risk of asphyxiation or entrapment is serious enough to prompt a recall before incidents occur.
What should I do if I own one of the recalled models?
Immediately stop using the product, follow the disposal instructions, and submit a refund or replacement request to KingPavonini. The company will require a photo of the disassembled item and your name.
Can I sue if my loved one was hurt by a KingPavonini bed rail?
Yes. If your loved one was injured or killed due to entrapment, or if the product lacked proper warning labels, you may have a product liability or wrongful death claim. Contact an attorney experienced in defective product cases.
Does the recall apply to rails already in use?
Yes. Even if the rail appears functional or hasn’t caused issues, it still violates safety standards and should no longer be used.
Where were the products manufactured?
These bed rails were manufactured in China and imported by Henan Kingpavonini Network Technology Co., Ltd.
If you or a loved one purchased a recalled KingPavonini adult bed rail and experienced an injury, near-miss, or fatal incident, you may be entitled to compensation. These products were sold with safety violations that put lives at risk.
